About the Venue:

" Taking over Barsoma's old digs, The Valley's newest venture, Chilliwow is a fully themed Mexican cantina. Set to become a favourite amongst mexican-lovers and party-goers, think tequila, margaritas, tacos and chilli dogs in a vibrant and colourful environment. Home to a massive outdoor courtyard, large dance floor and a private function space nicknamed 'Studiowow', it's the new Friday and Saturday night hotspot. "

About the Audio Visual:

The venue required a versatile accurately zoned sound system that blended into the exotic and colourful decor but still provides the required volume levels.

Design Criteria:
Even sound coverage in a areas
Separate source and volume control for each zone
    Visually unobtrusive speakers
Multiple inputs connections around the venue
    Simple control for staff

The end result is an extremely versatile system that provides amazing performance in the space while maintaining an extremely low profile. Every speaker is extremely well placed and does not intrude on the intended visual experience of the venue but still maintains a strong audible presence. In particular, the LG03 cabinets provide stunning volume and clarity for their size which is extremely imperative as DJs and live performers (mainly Mariachi bands) use the system as their primary source of sound reinforcement. MK100's provide amazing coverage and clarity in the lounge and seating areas while a single MK75 mounted directly in the centre of the private function room roof provides strikingly uniform coverage through out the space.

Outside was a challenge to provide even adequate sound as stringent restrictions were set on how many speakers could be installed and exactly where they could be placed. It was decided to use 3 weatherproof LG03E (Environmental) enclosures tied to a single dual 10" LGB01 subwoofer all of which are mounted to the walls and roof of the high entrance archway.

A pair of MK50 ultra compact cube enclosures provide clear sound in the toilets - BUT... its not background music nor is it a DJ or Mariachi band that you will hear rather it's "Learn to Speak Spanish Lessons" on repeat.

Overall the new system installed at Chilliwow catches the attention of patrons and professionals alike all whom can't help but comment on just how good it sounds. Next time your in the valley or have a hankering for quality Mexican food and a fantastic party vide be sure to drop into Chilliwow for a taco, chill dog or chill beer !
