GEELONG.VIC- Ritchie Bros is the world's largest auctioneer of heavy equipment and trucks. Established in 1958 in British Columbia Canada, they now have a presence worldwide and have been in Australia since 1990.
In March of this year, they unveiled a new auction facility in Geelong, Australia. As you can imagine, superior sound clarity is essential in this fast paced, high energy environment. Thousands of people attend Ritchie Brothers' events and it is imperative to have great sound.
Nick Jackson (pictured below) of Silversound was instrumental in getting the Geelong operation up and going. He has a history with Ritchie Bros' Brisbane Auction Site. Folks like Nick are crucial to Acoustic Technologies in helping clients get the best possible sound solution.
About Nick and Silversound :: Nick Jackson established Silversound in 2002 and has studied contemporary music, performance and technical production at Queensland's South Bank Institute of TAFE.
He has been working with Ritchie Bros Australia on their sound for five years and worked with the team at Geelong to supply Ritchie Brothers their first line array system. Ritchie Bros was sold on the importance of high quality sound and worked with Nick to ensure that they had the system best suited to their needs.
Playing, mixing and listening to great music are passions for Nick who is currently drumming in the "super cool happy rock dirty pop" band Unsought Duke. They are about to release their first single and film clip entitled Debts and Debtors from their debut album.
Nick is currently building a recording studio in the bushlands of Kenmore Hills and looking forward to creating and recording his own music after many years of helping other people sound good.
Using our proprietary Sound Level Prediction Software (SLPS) for BLACKBIRD Line Array systems it was possible to accurately predict the coverage patterns and sound levels at different parts of the room to ensure the absolute smoothest even sound across the entire space.
SLPS is an essential tool for designing a BLACKBIRD line array system for both installed and touring applications - download it for free here
